Billed as the world’s largest casino chip and collectibles show, the 32nd Casino Collectibles Association Show takes place June 12-14 at the South Point Hotel and Casino, Exhibit Hall D, in Las Vegas.
Hosted by the Casino Collectibles Association, the show will feature more than 40 dealers from around the world offering an opportunity to examine, buy, sell, or trade casino memorabilia.
According to a news release, there will be souvenirs from “when casinos wanted customers to pocket their branded keepsakes as reminders of a memorable experience.” Featured will be gaming chips of all denominations, gaming tokens, dice, slot cards, playing cards, matchbooks, ashtrays, menus, dinnerware, swizzle sticks, casino photos, post cards, signs, and table felt.
Slated to appear are an array of notable casino figures. The Celebrity Meet & Greet Gaming Education Series will feature:
- Michael Clifford, Director of Casino Operations at Caesars Entertainment. June 12, 11 a.m.
- David Schwartz, author of Something for Your Money, a history of casinos in Las Vegas. June 12, 1 p.m.
- Matt Savage, World Poker Tour Executive Tour Director and founder of the Poker Tournament Directors Association. June 13, 9 a.m.
- Pam Ashlund, the Queen of Swizzle and the founder of the Swizzle Stick Collectors Club. June 13, 11 a.m.
- Dustin Marks, blackjack cheater. Two demonstrations June 14 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Registered show attendees also can attend four free educational seminars running concurrently with the show. These seminars are presented across the hall from the show in the Joshua Room of the South Point Hotel and Casino:
- Managing Gaming at World Famous Casinos. Clifford will share behind-the-scenes experiences and stories of managing gaming at premier casino locations. June 12, 8 a.m.
- Poker Hall of Famer Tom McEvoy and co-author Brad Smith of Poker Pioneer, McEvoy’s autobiography, will share 40 years of casino stories. McEvoy and Smith collaborated for two years writing the book, a finalist in Global Poker Awards’ first Best Poker Book category. June 12, 3 p.m.
- Swizzle Sticks, the Simple Yet Iconic Connections to Gaming’s Past. Ashlund will share her fascination with them and the stories of the bars, restaurants, hotels, and casinos they represent. June 13, 3 p.m.
- The Chip Guide, World’s Largest Casino Memorabilia Database. Charles Kaplan, President of the CCA’s Museum of Gaming History, and curator of the ChipGuide, will discuss the significant 25-year history of the online database and its’ value to the chip collecting community. June 13, 8 a.m.
Registered attendees can review and bid on 200 auction lots of casino chips and other casino memorabilia June 13. A live auction will be conducted at 7 p.m. in Exhibit Hall D and is open to the public. The auction catalog can be viewed at www.ccgtcc.com/events/auction.aspx.
