Black Oak Casino Resort hosted a grand opening Thursday of two newly renovated venues for children and families on the existing casino building’s first floor, which is now known as the Family Fun Floor.
The Kids Quest venue provides guest daycare for children from 30 months to 12 years old, and the Cyber Quest venue is an interactive arcade offering non-violent games appropriate for children of all ages, resort promoters said this week.
The openings come seven months after the resort announced its partnership with Kids Quest and Cyber Quest, which the resort describes as “the nation’s leading provider of safe, secure, and professionally supervised children’s entertainment centers.”
Kids Quest started in 1992 and Cyber Quest started in 1996, both offering child-oriented venues for casinos. The Kids Quest promise since 1992 has been “Playtime for Kids, Free Time for You!” Both entities are headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota.
Black Oak Casino Resort is owned and operated by the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians.
The collaboration between the resort, Kids Quest and Cyber Quest is intended “to elevate the family-friendly atmosphere at Black Oak Casino Resort, offering an unparalleled experience for guests of all ages,” resort promoters said.
Kids Quest offers supervised entertainment for children that includes interactive video games, music, crafts, and food options, resort promoters said. Cyber Quest games are appropriate for all ages, and the venue features a Cyber Quest Prize Zone where winning guests can choose from small toys to electronic devices and tech gadgets.
The aim of both new venues is to “bring together engaging entertainment for kids and peace of mind for parents,” report promoters said, and to underscore that Black Oak Casino Resort continues to strive to be a family-friendly vacation destination.
Black Oak Casino Resort has hired 12 new employees to staff the Kids Quest and Cyber Quest venues, resort promoters said. All 12 have undergone background checks and completed first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
The resort is offering two promotions to draw attention to the Kids Quest and Cyber Quest venues:
• The Seven Sisters Date Night package offers parents a meal at the Seven Sisters restaurant in the casino building, includes two complimentary hours of child supervision at Kids Quest, and costs $100 per adult couple. The Date Night promotion is available Wednesdays and Thursdays.
• The Kids Quest Stay and Play promotion includes a hotel room at Black Oak Casino Resort, two hours of supervised play for children at Kids Quest, $25 to $50 in free play credit for use in the casino, and costs $159 per room.
For both promotions, the two hours of Kids Quest child supervision can be split between two youngsters for an hour each, or one child for two hours.
Resort promoters said staff with both Kids Quest and Cyber Quest would be handing out swag bags — containing promotional items, a Kids Quest gift card with random denominations of $10, $20, or $50, and a voucher for $10 in bonus play at Cyber Quest — to the first 100 child guests to celebrate the grand openings of the venues.
The new Kids Quest and Cyber Quest venues reflect Black Oak Casino Resort’s “continued commitment to providing safe, fun, and truly memorable experiences and creating the definitive one-stop family vacation destination in Northern California,” resort promoters said.
The partnership between the resort, Kids Quest and Cyber Quest has been more than two years in the making, said Ty Day Jr., president of the tribe’s Tuolumne Economic Development Authority board of directors.
“We couldn’t be more excited to let our guests and their families come by and see why Kids Quest and Cyber Quest are the true industry leaders in providing memorable family entertainment options,” Day said in remarks distributed Oct. 15. “In addition to the recently
upgraded Black Oak Lanes and The Charlie serving up the best pizza in the county, the Family Fun Floor truly has something for everyone.”
Kids Quest and Cyber Quest are scheduled to be open 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays; 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturdays; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays; and closed Mondays. For more information, go to www.blackoakcasino.com.
