Lotte Tour Oct casino revenue up 22pct y-o-y

Lotte Tour Development Co Ltd, the promoter of the Jeju Dream Tower resort (pictured in a file photo) on South Korea’s Jeju island, reported casino sales of KRW24.20 billion (US$17.7 million) in October, up 22.2 percent in year-on-year terms.

Judged sequentially, October’s casino sales at the complex’s foreigner-only gaming operation were down by 14.9 percent. That is according to a Friday filing to the Korea Exchange. No commentary was given on the reason for the changes.

Lotte Tour’s October hotel sales stood at almost KRW7.70 billion, up 13.0 percent sequentially, and a 12.9-percent decline from the same month in 2023.

October’s table game net revenue was KRW23.14 billion, an 14.8-percent decline from September, but an jump of 25.0 percent year-on-year.

Last month’s machine game net revenue totalled just below KRW1.06 billion, down 16.5 percent sequentially, and a decline of 17.3 percent from a year earlier.

Casino table drop – the amount paid by customers to purchase chips for table games – was KRW137.07 billion in October, up 5.9 percent month-on-month, but a 4.4-percent decline year-on-year.

Revenue in the gaming operation reached KRW244.97 billion in the first 10 months of 2024, 103.9-percent higher than a year ago. Table revenue for the period was almost KRW229.47 billion, a 111.0-percent year-on-year increase, while machine game recorded a 35.8-percent year-on-year improvement, to KRW15.50 billion.
