SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Pokagon Band citizens and the Four Winds Casino team are doing their part in giving back this holiday season.
Earlier Tuesday, 200 Christmas food boxes were donated to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
The food boxes are part of larger donations across the region.
Pokagon Band citizens in partnership with Four Winds Casino is donating 1,000 food boxes across Michiana for the holidays.
Four Winds Casino Senior Vice President, Scott Brewer talked about the importance of this effort.
“This has always been a treat for us. We do this three times a year at different locations in which we’re passing out food. We do Thanksgiving, we do Christmas, which is now, and we’ll do Easter in the spring. But to be able to be in a position to be philanthropic and to give back to the community, it’s unmeasurable what that means personally and to the company and the tribe,” said Scott Brewer, Senior Vice President for Government Affairs and Community Relations.
He would go on to thank the Michiana area for allowing this small effort make a big difference.
