After having their grand opening ribbon cutting and parade, Caesar’s Virginia hosted a firework and drone display to celebrate the opening of their brand new casino.

After waiting in suspense for almost two years, Caesar’s opened their permanent casino on Tuesday in the River City. To celebrate and end their amazing day, Caesar’s held a fireworks display and live drone show over the casino.

“Fantastic,” longtime Danville resident Bill Harper said. “The casino is incredible; I thought I was in Las Vegas.”

“It was awesome,” two kids shared with ABC13. “It was very colorful. I like how in the last part they really started popping, and I like the little thing (drones) they had right here.”

The drones created images of spades, hearts, diamonds, a slot machine, and coins. On top of the amazing light show, Danville families were excited to finally step in the doors of the permanent casino.

“I enjoyed the food and just going in and seeing the beautiful work that’s been done and everybody coming together,” Danville resident Mariah Martin said.

“We’ve been here all day long, and we both are going home broke, but that’s okay,” Alice Jones said.

“We had a good time, we had a ball, the atmosphere was fun, and everybody acted accordingly,” Bridgette Paige said.

Some even made the commute from Greensboro, North Carolina to get in on the fun!

“50 minutes away; I’ll do this every weekend,” Allen Rhodes said. “What excited me to come out was to see the brand new casino, see how it was made, and the new games. It’s nice compared to the other ones.”

“It’s gonna bring a lot to the town you know,” North Carolina resident Justin Carlin said. “I’m a poker player so that’s the biggest for me. Getting able to play these games; you can’t do this stuff anywhere; so they bring something that you get anywhere around here.”

For Danville city leaders and residents, they believe Caesar’s is a big win.

“Today is about the city of Danville, and they got exactly what they voted for,” Danville Mayor Alonzo Jones said.

Many families shared with ABC13 that they are happy to finally have the permanent building in place. They also are thankful for the work Caesar’s is already doing for their community as well.
