KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One man has been charged in connection to the theft of a motorcycle from the parking lot of a Kansas City casino.
Clay County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Wednesday, Jan. 8, indicated that Joshua R. Long, 43, of Lee’s Summit, has been charged in connection to the theft of a motorcycle from a metro area casino.
A probable cause statement filed by the North Kansas City Police Department revealed that just after 3:55 a.m. on Sept. 24, law enforcement officials were called to Harah’s Casino at 1 Riverboat Dr. with reports of a stolen black 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200.
When first responders arrived, they said they found the bike’s owner still in possession of the ignition key. Footage from the casino caught Long on tape as he arrived in a black Nissan and left on the bike.
Investigators indicated that on Oct. 16, they attempted to contact Long at his home, however, he was not there. A criminal summons was issued on Wednesday and Long was charged with stealing a vehicle. If convicted, he could face up to 7 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
An initial appearance has been scheduled for 9:05 a.m. on Feb. 18. No further information has been released.
