NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The city of North Las Vegas is advancing plans to transform two former casino sites into a family-friendly development.
City leaders broke ground on the future site of Hylo Park on Tuesday morning, marking a significant step in the project.
The 73-acre lot, located at the corner of Rancho Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard, will soon be known as Hylo Park.
The development is set to replace the old Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho casinos, which closed during the pandemic.
Hylo Park represents a nearly $400 million investment by Agora Realty.
The project will feature a walkable community with nearly 700 new housing units, a sports field, an outdoor entertainment venue, a 150-room hotel, restaurants and bars, a convenience store, a car wash, and an ice rink.
“One of my goals was to create a win-win for the entire community,” said a project representative.
The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by December, with the second phase beginning this summer.
