The Middlesex College Foundation is hosting its 13th annual Casino Night in West Hall on Friday, May 2, from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. to engage the community in celebrating the College’s 60th anniversary while raising money going toward funding the education of Middlesex students.

Nicole Lewis, manager of Annual Giving and Donor Engagement, said money secured from the fundraiser helps support the Foundation’s mission of providing students scholarships and other resources.

Max Santana, a first-year student, said, “I think it’s important because many people are low income and they need the scholarships, and it’s a great way to get people more motivated about education if they can pay for it.”

Lewis said attendees must be 21 or older to attend, and participants can look forward to a fun night of drinks, food, networking and various games like poker, blackjack, roulette and craps with the chance to win great prizes.

According to the Middlesex College Foundation Casino Night website, tickets are $100, and if you are unable to attend, there is the option to donate when you visit the ticket purchasing section.

This year’s theme is “Diamonds and Dice.”

Lewis said students 21 and older, area business leaders, alumni, the college community and friends are invited to take part in the College’s Casino Night this year.

“With the College hitting 60 years of serving the community, this is a fabulous time for people to come out and support a great cause,” she said.

Lewis said that when both the campus and outside community support Casino Night, a stronger impact is made with helping the Foundation respond to students’ needs at the College.

“Because of our donors, the Foundation is able to help more students with scholarships and resources they can leverage in order to be successful on their academic journeys,” she said.

Last year, over $71,000 was raised through Casino Night, Lewis said.

She said the Community Resource Hub and Food Pantry on campus is an essential part to assisting the Foundation in reaching its goal of supporting the whole student.

The 2024 Middlesex College Giving Day raised over $31,000 for programs such as the Chromebook loaner program, food pantry and student emergency funds, she said.

Mia Ortega, a second-year student, said, “I think it’s amazing that the school is raising money for their students, giving back raises morale.”

Lewis said a total of $449,465.48 was awarded to students by the Foundation for the academic year 2024-25, and over $19.5 million from donors in scholarships have been distributed to students since the creation of the Middlesex College Foundation.

Lewis said, “We look forward to a great turnout this year in support of the students and families served by the Middlesex College Foundation and are grateful for our sponsors and supporters.”
