Iowa’s casino revenue totaled $154.7 million in March, down 5.8% from the $164.3 million reported in March 2024.
Slot machine revenue amounted to $141 million of revenue, down 4.4% from $147.4 million. Table games declined from $16.8 million to $13.7 million, a drop of 18.4%.
Five of th 19 casinos regulated by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission reported revenue above $10 million: Ameristar Casino Council Bluffs ($15 million), Horseshoe Casino Council Bluffs ($17.1 million), Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino ($21.2 million), Rhythm City Casino ($10 million) and Riverside Casino ($11.3 million).
Each casino experienced year-over-year declines in March. Ameristar dropped from $18 million, down 16.3%. Horseshoe Casino decreased from $18.4 million, down 6.8%. Prairie Meadows fell from $22.2 million, down 4.7%. Rhythm City decreased from $10.3 million, a 3.2% drop, and Riverside Casino declined from $11.9 million, down 5.2%.
Iowa sportsbooks generated a handle of $287.8 million in March, up 5.6% from $272.3 million. Net receipts fell 13.4% from $18.2 million to $15.7 million.
