Authorities in Vicksburg are warning people of the impact rising water of the Mississippi River can have on wildlife.Thursday, the Vicksburg Police Department said they were called after a family of bears was spotted swimming in the Mississippi River near the Waterview Casino.The police department posted video of the bears to their Facebook page along with this message:”As the water continues to rise in Vicksburg, nature reminds us who else calls this area home. Officers responded to Waterview Casino where baby bears were spotted enjoying a sunset swim in the river. While it’s a beautiful sight, we want to remind our community to stay alert. Rising waters often bring animals and insects closer to homes and businesses. Please be cautious near wooded areas and riverbanks. Stay safe, Vicksburg!”The Mississippi River in Vicksburg is expected to crest by Wednesday at 48′.
