The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will gather input regarding the renewal of Plainridge Park Casino’s Category 2 gaming license during a public hearing on May 1 at Plainville Town Hall, according to a community announcement.
The hearing is set to start at 11 a.m. Gaming Commission members expected to attend include Chair Jordan Maynard and Paul Brodeur, Brad Hill, Eileen O’Brien and Nakisha Skinner, according to the announcement.
The hearing will begin with comments from Plainridge Park Casino regarding its license renewal. Representatives from the host community, surrounding areas and impacted live entertainment venues will also have a chance to speak.
After the initial comments, other members of the public will be invited to share their views, according to the announcement. Those interested in speaking are asked to register online at massgaming.com/news-events/article/mgc-public-hearing-may-1-2025. Speakers will be limited to 5 minutes to ensure efficient use of time. Maynard, the chair, may allow comments from unregistered attendees at the end of the meeting.
The Gaming Commission will not make any decision regarding the license renewal during the May 1 hearing; instead, the event is designed to collect information and assess public sentiment about the application.
A livestream will be available at Plainville.NorthTV.net, and a recording will be posted on the MGC YouTube channel after the event, according to the announcement.
Plainridge Park Casino, at 301 Washington St., opened to the public in 2015. Its sportsbook opened on Jan. 31, 2023.
