HENDERSON, Nev. (FOX5) – A Henderson casino is continuing work to restore power after an outage Tuesday.
Details initially came in from the city as a possible lightning strike at Rainbow Casino. An electrical panel experienced a short.
Officials say no fire occurred. The casino was forced to evacuate. Thursday morning, casino officials said “they’re closed until further notice.”

Wednesday, the general manager Tim Brooks of Rainbow Club and Emerald Island Casinos provided the following statement:
The Rainbow Club Casino is currently without power due to the ongoing storms sweeping through our valley. NV Energy is on site and working diligently to get power restored to the building Wednesday. We will update you once we’re ready to welcome back guests. Our sister property, the Emerald Island Casino located across the street, is unaffected and happy to welcome guests.
Guests are encouraged to visit Rainbow Casino’s sister property across the street, Emerald Island Casino.
The day the outage occurred, the casino said everyone was reimbursed via player cards or reservations.
