For close to a year now, the Black Bear Casino Resort invested $21 million for expanding their current event center. This project created 20,000 square feet of more space, with eight new rooms for more weddings, banquets, ceremonies, etc. The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa own the casino, and it’s also a driving economic force in the Northland.
Black Bear Casino Resort Convention and Event Manager Richard Diver, says the expansion was a critical need. For the past several years, they were limited with the number of events that could be hosted.
“With the demolishing of the old hotel, we lost our meeting space. So after that happened, we only had three spaces to rent out,” Diver said.
