A casino could be coming to Long Beach in the next five years. The Long Beach Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a lease agreement with Long Beach Harbor Resorts, LLC for city property in the harbor where Parrish’s restaurant is located.
WXXV 25’s Jordyn Lassiter spoke to many Long Beach residents off-camera who expressed concerns about crime and alcohol issues potentially affecting their otherwise safe town. To explore this further, we decided to visit Long Beach, talk to more residents, and find out if they share these concerns or have a different perspective.
Requirements in the lease agreement state that construction must start within three years, and the casino must open within five. In addition, Long Beach Harbor Resorts must show a contract for the purchase of the old K-Mart property by the end of March 2025.
