Atlantic City’s Ocean Casino Resort will invest $50 million in 2025 as part of a sweeping upgrade that includes hotel room renovations, a casino expansion, new dining options, and entertainment additions. This marks the final phase of a $270 million investment by owners Luxor Capital Group and Ilitch Holdings Inc.
The project includes a $25 million renovation of 559 hotel rooms and suites, completing the upgrade of all 1,860 rooms at the property. Since 2022, Ocean has systematically upgraded its accommodations, debuting 12 floors of Blu Rooms and Suites that were unfinished under previous ownership, followed by the addition of over 700 rooms and the introduction of its Duplex and Bay suites in 2023 and 2024.
“Ocean continues to invest in property enhancements that enable us to provide an unmatched guest experience not only in Atlantic City, but nationwide,” said Bill Callahan, the casino’s general manager. “This year also marks an exciting milestone as we complete the entire hotel with fully renovated guest rooms and suites.”
The casino is also expanding its gaming offerings. It will double its Asian-themed gambling space from 4,000 to 8,000 square feet in a $4 million project that will include 32 gaming tables featuring mini baccarat and pai gow poker.
On the culinary front, Ocean will welcome two new restaurants this summer through a partnership with celebrity restaurateur Stephen Starr. The multimillion-dollar venues will be located on the resort’s lobby level. Other additions include LaScala’s Fire, a new Italian restaurant; High Steaks, a cheesesteak shop in the food court; and Blend, which will offer smoothies and acai bowls.
Later this summer, Ocean will open Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar, featuring holograms, including a 12-foot great white shark. A new clothing store, Sweetheart Coast, by Jersey Shore star Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, will also debut.
Moreover, the casino’s beachfront has expanded in 2025 following the completion of a $92.6 million beach replenishment project by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Guests now have more exclusive beach space just steps from the resort.
