Goldman Sachs stock initiated coverage on FLUT with a “buy” rating Casino stock Flutter Entertainment PLC (NYSE:FLUT) is trading at new record highs after Goldman Sachs initiated coverage with a “buy” rating. The firm also set a price target of $320, which is a hefty premium to current levels. At last look, FLUT was up 2.7% at $273.97, and earlier hit an all-time peak of $275.63. On the charts, the $260 level moved in as support following the stock’s Nov. 13 post-earnings bull gap. Since the start of the year, the equity is up 52.1%. Goldman Sachs is joining an already bullish brokerage bunch, as 18 of the 19 in coverage carry a “buy” or better rating, and one a hesitant “hold.” Plus, the 12-month consensus price target of $287.72 represents a 5.5% upside. The US$340m package of enhancements included more than 500 new slot machines and 30 table games on the casino floor. “Rio’s Destination by Hyatt brand affiliation marks an exciting new chapter for our resort through our progressive evolution,” said Patrick Miller, president and CEO of Rio Hotel & Casino. “We’ve not only reenergized the resort’s design and experience, but we’ve proudly honoured its legacy as a quintessential Las Vegas icon, providing World of Hyatt members and global travellers with even more ways to immerse themselves in our destination’s fun, energetic and eclectic atmosphere.” Joining forces with Hyatt makes the Rio Hotel & Casino the largest property within the company’s global hotel portfolio based on room count and the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Nevada. Las Vegas police arrest 57 striking casino workers, says union
Police in Las Vegas arrested 57 striking casino workers on Thursday at a protest outside Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, the Culinary Union said on X. Hundreds of casino workers at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas walked off their jobs last week over stalled talks to win a new five-year union pay contract. Images and videos posted on X by the union showed members blocking a road in front of the hotel. Some images also showed police handcuffing union members. “Culinary Union members on strike outside @VirginHotelsLV while Culinary Union members are getting arrested in non-violent civil disobedience,” the union said in one of the posts. The Culinary Union said the union’s leadership, including President Diana Valles, were also arrested by police. Separately, Las Vegas police said that the road next to the casino, which was earlier closed due to protests, had reopened after the arrests. The city is hosting Formula One Grand Prix this weekend. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is owned by JC Hospitality, along with Juniper Capital Partners, Virgin Group and others, according to the hotel’s website.
