Accel Entertainment has appointed Cheryl Kondra, who has previously led audit and compliance for Caesars Entertainment and Pinnacle Entertainment, to its board of directors.
Kondra will take up the role of Accel’s board’s Audit Committee.
She spent 17 years at Caesars, initially as an internal audit manager and supervisor before working her way up to vice president and chief audit executive.
From there, she became Pinnacle Entertainment’s VP internal audit and chief compliance officer in 2014, before becoming VP of internal audit at Genting Americas for a year in July 2019.
Accel Entertainment CEO Andy Rubenstein said: “With Cheryl’s deep expertise in the casino and gaming sector, we are confident her insights will help us further our goal of becoming best-in-class in audit and compliance in the gaming industry and position us to capture new opportunities which align with our expansion strategy.
“We welcome Cheryl to the board and look forward to her guidance as we expand into the brick-and-mortar retail and casino space.”
“I look forward to joining the Accel Board and leaning on my decades of experience working for multi-jurisdictional public gaming companies,” said Kondra. “I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to help guide Accel’s strategic growth and continue building on its strong track record of innovation and compliance in a complex regulatory landscape.”
As part of this transition, Eden Godsoe has decided not to stand for re-election to the Accel board, marking the conclusion of her term.
