Construction will soon begin on a new casino that will eventually replace Jokers Wild in Henderson.

Boyd Gaming announced that site grading began Monday for Cadence Crossing Casino on Boulder Highway near Warm Springs Road, next to the Cadence master-planned community.

A formal groundbreaking ceremony is planned for Thursday, April 3, to celebrate the start of construction. Completion is expected by mid-2026.

Cadence Crossing will feature 450 slots and several food and beverage offerings, according to Boyd Gaming.

“As our Company marks our 50th year serving the Las Vegas Valley, we are excited to begin our latest investment in the southern Nevada community,” Keith Smith, Boyd’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

Future plans for Cadence Crossing include a hotel, expanded casino space and more.

Jokers Wild will remain open until the new casino is completed, Smith told investors last year.

Originally called the Cattle Baron Casino, Jokers Wild first opened in 1990. It’s gaming only with no hotel attached and features a cafe, deli and lounge in addition to slots and table games.
