The owners of Petersburg’s upcoming casino continue to build the administrative staff who will run it when the temporary version opens later this year.
On May 21, The Cordish Companies and Bruce Smith Enterprise announced that Yanina de Vargas has been named chief financial officer for Live! Casino Virginia. De Vargas comes to Petersburg from casino giant MGM’s resort in Northfield, Ohio, where she was vice president of finance.
In the Petersburg role, de Vargas will oversee all the casino’s financial operations, including budgeting and financial reporting.

She is the second hire announced for the Petersburg casino, following Penny Parayo as senior vice president and general manager.
