Five couples wed, renew vows at Danville casino; Golden Nugget hosts job fair | Business

DANVILLE — Golden Nugget Danville Casino helped make New Year’s Eve more romantic for five local couples.

The casino also continues to look to hire into the near year.

New Year’s Eve festivities included a chance for couples to get hitched in a free wedding or renew their vows.

Golden Nugget Danville marketing coordinator Hailee Keller said the casino had one wedding and five vow renewals. All of the couples were from the surrounding area.

The casino also is kicking off the new year with a Local Vendor Showcase and Job Fair on Saturday. 

“We will have an area set up for vendors as well as job seekers. Vendors will have the opportunity to meet with our purchasing team to discuss collaboration opportunities and showcase their products/services,” according to Keller.

Keller said their human resources team can connect job seekers on career opportunities, application tips, and on-site interviews.

“We currently have 17 job openings which include table games, slots, surveillance, marketing and food and beverage,” she said.

She said the main purpose of the vendor and job fair is to focus on the local community.

The Local Vendor Showcase and Job Fair will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Saltgrass Steak House at the casino, 204 Eastgate Drive.

The free event offers a platform for job seekers, local businesses, and community members to connect in meaningful ways, organizers say.

• Job opportunities: Golden Nugget Casino’s hiring team will be on-site to discuss career openings, provide application tips, and conduct interviews. This initiative aims to attract local talent and fill positions across various departments.

• Vendor engagement: Local businesses are invited to meet with the casino’s purchasing staff to explore collaboration opportunities. The event also supports minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses by offering guidance on state certification processes.

• Community networking: Attendees can engage with professionals, businesses, and peers in a supportive setting that fosters relationships and growth.

• Prizes and giveaways: To celebrate community participation, attendees will receive a Golden Nugget gift bag and have a chance to win door prizes.

“We believe in the power of community connections and are excited to offer a platform that benefits job seekers and businesses alike,” casino GM Jahnae Erpenbach said.
