WAYLAND, Mich. — The grand opening of Gun Lake Casino Resort’s new hotel in Wayland is just days away.
The new, 16-story luxury hotel tower –which offers 252 rooms– will officially be open to the public on Friday, officials said.
In addition to the hotel, new amenities such as the MnoYé Spa, the Sandhill Café, a stylish lobby bar, and an enlarged casino floor with new slot machines will also be available.
Officials said that guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy several events celebrating the grand opening:
- Spectacular Drone Show (7:15 p.m.) – As evening falls, gaze upward as a fleet of illuminated drones paints the night sky with dazzling visuals synchronized to music, a fun show for people of all ages.
- Interactive Entertainment (7:30 p.m.) – The fun continues with an evening of nonstop excitement, featuring magicians, stilt walkers, and speed caricature artists throughout the casino floor.
- Live Entertainment (10 p.m.) – Wrap up your night in style at the 131 Sportsbar & Lounge with an electrifying live performance by Brena, paying tribute to the women of rock history.
Come May, the casino will conclude the entirety of the expansion project with the debut of Wawyé Oasis, a 32,000-square-foot indoor atrium that will feature a tropical 80-degree climate, multiple swimming pools, a swim-up bar, and year-round live entertainment, officials said.
The $300 million expansion project first broke ground in 2022.
