ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Hard Rock Casino’s support for the Rockford community stays strong with a $6,000 donation to the Rock River Valley Blood Center.
Hard Rock presented the blood center with a large guitar-shaped check.
According to the blood center, the money will go towards buying new “blood mobiles” which are buses that travel to offer mobile blood donations.
Lisa Entrikin, CEO of Rock River Valley Blood Center says they were selected as the local charity for the month of January, so patrons to the casino could choose to donate any of their tickets with leftover funds.
“January is National Volunteer Blood Donor month, so we were thrilled for the tie in with the casino and we’re just so grateful for the donation,” Entrikin said. “Our mission is so important, and this donation from the Hard Rock just helps ensure that we can fulfill our mission.”
