Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain is planning a massive $2 to $4 billion expansion, which the casino believes would create a “one-of-a-kind” entertainment district for the region.
The casino, currently situated on a 40-acre site, recently acquired an additional 350 acres of largely untouched land between its existing property and the nearby Toyota Amphitheatre, Fox40 reported.
The project is expected to convert the decades-old undeveloped stretch into what developers are calling a “top-tier destination.”
Plans for the site include a festival entertainment district, rodeo space, sports and resort facilities, retail and dining options, pedestrian walkways, and potential stadium and fairground areas.
“It will bring thousands of jobs and enhance the quality of life for existing residents by increasing local dining, entertainment, and retail options,” District 4 Yuba County Supervisor Gary Bradford told Fox40. “In addition, it will increase tax revenue and could attract millions of people to Yuba County to visit the destination.”
Since opening in 2019, the casino has contributed nearly $2.5 billion to the local economy. The new expansion sits on non-tribal land, meaning Yuba County will benefit directly from property and sales taxes.
Officials said construction could begin as early as 2026, with a projected timeline of five to ten years to complete the full buildout.
