The Meadowlands and Monmouth Park race tracks — the potential locations for future brick and mortar casinos — would need to provide many new amenities and luxury offerings to stay afloat in the era of online gambling, analysts and industry executives told NorthJersey.com.
Illustrating the challenge posed by online gambling, New Jersey’s nine casinos, all in Atlantic City, post disappointing brick and mortar revenue numbers compared to online and mobile app gambling.
New Jersey’s brick and mortar casinos saw a 2.7% revenue loss between April 2024 and April 2025, bringing in nearly $211 million last month, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, which regulates casinos, racetracks, online gambling and sports betting in the state.
