Police consider safe gun storage charges after 12-year-old shot in Kalamazoo
A shooting involving two minors in Kalamazoo Wednesday night is being investigated by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS), with preliminary evidence pointing to what detectives say appears to have been an accident.
KDPS detectives said the shooting is believed to have been the result of a gun not being stored securely, ultimately getting into the hands of the suspect, a 16-year-old boy.
KDPS: 1 hospitalized, 1 arrested following accidental shooting in Kalamazoo
One person was taken into custody following a shooting that happened in a residential area Wednesday night, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).
It happened in the area of Clinton Avenue and Bank Street around 7:30 p.m. on the city’s southeast side.
After a preliminary investigation, KDPS officials believe the shooting was accidental.
Pizza shop owner speaks out after she said she was robbed at gunpoint
The co-owner of Galesburg Pizza King wants answers after she said she was robbed at gunpoint while on a delivery last week.
While out for a delivery near Gayle Avenue and Burgess Drive Wednesday night, Galesburg Pizza King co-owner Taylor Martin said after getting out of her car she was approached by someone with a gun who told her to “drop the food.” Police arrived within a few minutes, Martin said.
Fatal crash in Florence Township claims life of 21-year-old Indiana man
One person has died from a fatal vehicle crash in St. Joseph County on Tuesday.
At around 3:56 p.m., deputies responded to Lutz Road and Stears Road in Florence Township for a crash.
