LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Lincoln Police Department said it arrested a man and a woman for allegedly leaving two young children in a car in the parking lot of a casino while gambling.

41-year-old Wilfredo Urbina Delgado and 45-year-old Brenda Gonzalez were both charged with felony cruelty/neglect of a child.

Police responded to Bally’s Casino around 5 p.m. on May 23 to find Delgado with a 7-year-old and 11-year-old child.

Delgado allegedly said that he went into the casino to find Gonzalez.

The department alleged that, after an investigation, it was found that Delgado and Gonzalez left the children unsupervised for “extended periods” in order to gamble.

Both Delgado and Gonzalez were taken into custody, and the children were given to the custody of a family member.

Delgado was issued $20,000 personal recognizance bail and remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions as a bail violator, while Gonzalez was released on $20,000 personal
recognizance.
