Bright paintings and pieces line the walls of the new pop-up exhibit at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland.
It’s not just a place for gambling, but also for admiring art and the stories behind it.
“My work is rooted in my own experiences and that of shared experiences of other Black and brown women,” said Noreen Smith, a Baltimore artist. “This gives me the opportunity to not only uplift how we push through challenges, but how we beautifully and gracefully make our way through those challenges to the other side and to victory.”
Smith is one of nine Maryland Black artists featured in Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland’s first Black History Month pop-up art exhibit called “Reflections of Joy: Celebrating African American Art in Maryland.”
