Over 140 workers at the Caesars Casino in Southern Indiana are holding strong in week two of their strike at one of the most profitable casinos in the state.
The casino, owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee, has refused to meet the union’s reasonable demands for retirement security.
Members mobilized a strong contract campaign to show management they were prepared to take action to win the contract they deserve with a unity pledge and a march on the boss.
Teamsters Local 89 is standing strong and keeping energy up at the picket line — including screening parties of wrestlemania and visits from local elected officials, Teamster leaders and members from across the area, and even the Easter Bunny.
“The ball is in their court,” said Local 89 Business Agent Bryan Trafford, who’s leading negotiations with the Casino. “Our members are ready to fight for what we deserve, for as long as it takes.”
