A Long Beach woman won a new home in Temecula during a Pechanga Resort Casino contest, casino officials announced Saturday.
The winner, who the casino only identified as Mayra V., a trade union representative for medical professionals caring for the elderly in the state, won the home after participating in Pechanga’s Home Sweet Win! giveaway on Friday.
Between March and May, Pechanga Resort Casino gave its Rewards Club members the chance to win and move into a brand new home by Meritage Homes. Mayra was one of 20 Pechanga finalists selected to participate in the Home Sweet Win! finale hosted by Ty Pennington.
The 4-bed, 3-bath home sits on what was described as a sizable corner lot, surrounded by resort-style amenities within the Prado community, according to casino officials. The detached, single-family home offers a spacious, open concept floor plan, chef-inspired kitchen, energy efficiency features, all Whirlpool appliances, window coverings and ample outdoor space. The community features a pool, clubhouse, BBQs, picnic shelters and parks.
Mayra, a single mother and grandmother, told Pechanga staff she has never had a house of her own and will be moving in as soon as she can to begin making memories with her three adult daughters and grandchildren.
Two runners up in the Home Sweet Win! promotion each received $25,000 cash.
Pechanga representatives announced Friday that Home Sweet Win! will be back in 2026 with Ty Pennington returning as host.
In addition to the home giveaway, Pechanga gave $50,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to aid in their rebuilding efforts following January’s devastating wildfires.
