LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The man accused of murder after a woman was found in a Las Vegas hotel was deemed competent to stand trial.
35-year-old Jason Kendall faces charges of murder, sexual assault and battery by strangulation to commit sexual assault.
In June of 2024 officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a possible battery victim at Spring Valley Hospital.
The female victim, later identified as 30-year-old Larissa Garcia, had been located unresponsive in a hotel room at the Palms Casino Resort
According to an arrest report Kendall admitted to killing a sex worker in a statement to police.
Court documents confirmed on Jan. 15 further proceedings will resume following the competency-return.
Kendall is set to appear in court on Jan. 22.
