Michigan NASCAR Group 1 Practice Notes
Ty Gibbs – Ty Gibbs had good speed. In Group 1, Gibbs had the best 5,10,15,20 and 25 lap averages. Earnhardt Jr. thought he was the best by far in Group 1.
Alex Bowman – Alex Bowman was fast and had the best overall speed for Group 1. In Group 1, Bowman had the 2nd best 10-lap average, the 3rd best 15-lap average and the 4th best 20-lap average.
Shane van Gisbergen – SVG didn’t show a lot of speed. To close out Group 1 practice, SVG had a flat tire. His 10-lap average in Group 1 ranked as the 16th best (of 17).
Brad Keselowski – Keselowski told his team he’s fast but he wants to be faster. In Group 1, Brad Keselowski was the only driver who didn’t make a 10-lap run.
John H Nemechek – John H Nemechek had good speed and in Group 1 he ranked 2nd for 15 and 20-lap averages. His ten lap average in Group 1 ranked as the 3rd best.
