Officials on Thursday afternoon broke ground for a $100 million Muscogee Nation casino and hotel in Coweta, touting a $27.5 million annual economic impact for the area.
The Coweta Casino Hotel, which will be built on the southeast corner of 131st Street and Oklahoma 51, is to open in the spring of 2026.
The 104,000-square-foot development will be about 25 miles southeast of downtown Tulsa and about 10 miles from central Broken Arrow.
In addition to the 35,000-square-foot casino with 750 gaming machines, the development will have a 46-room hotel with a pool, a fitness center, concierge services, and a meeting and event space for as many as 150 guests, officials said.
During the construction phase, the capital investment in the project will support an estimated 501 jobs, providing $22.6 million in income for a total economic impact of $132.5 million in the region.

When fully operational, the hotel is expected to create 250 new direct jobs that will support an additional 346 jobs for a total of 596 jobs across the region. The jobs will create $27.5 million in new income annually, officials said.
“Investing in the city of Coweta represents a remarkable new chapter in our growing entertainment and hospitality legacy,” Muscogee Nation Principal Chief David Hill said.
“We are proud to develop land throughout our historic reservation, and this project adds to our significant economic development investments within the greater Tulsa region. The Coweta Casino Hotel will expand cultural tourism, create jobs and enhance the quality of life of our citizens.”
Plans for the project include a raised center bar, a full-service 150-seat restaurant and a private dining room.
“With a significant investment of $100 million, we aim to build not only a premier destination for guests but also a thriving hub that positively impacts the local community and the broader economy. From generating hundreds of construction jobs in the short term to creating 250 new, permanent positions across operations, hospitality, and entertainment, this development will support local talent and contribute meaningfully to the prosperity of the area with a considerable, positive economic impact each year,” said Pat Crofts, CEO of Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises.
“The new facility will combine world-class accommodations, gaming, dining and leisure amenities, reflecting our dedication to providing exceptional experiences and our belief in the region’s future.”
Coweta City Manager Julie Casteen told the Tulsa World last month that the development will be a “game changer” for the city.
