RISING SUN, Ind. (WKRC) – A new proposal in the Indiana General Assembly could lead to the relocation of the Rising Star Casino from its current location in Rising Sun.
Last fall, a plan was introduced to move the casino to an area near Fort Wayne, but state lawmakers did not take action on it. Now, “Senate Bill 43” has been introduced, which would establish a study to evaluate three potential sites for relocating the Rising Star license.
One of the locations under consideration is downtown Indianapolis.
Rising Star is currently the least profitable of Indiana’s 13 casinos. If the legislature approves the study, the findings are expected to be presented in October.
