A former New Hampshire State Senator has been arrested on an allegation of stealing nearly $200,000 of state COVID-19 pandemic relief aid.

Andy Sanborn of Bedford is charged with theft by deception. The state Attorney General’s Office accuses him of misrepresenting on a grant application the revenue that his former business, the Concord Casino, took in.

State investigators also said more than a year ago that Sanborn fraudulently obtained nearly $850,000 in federal pandemic relief funds. No charges have been filed as a result of that allegation, however.
