Several Pittsburghers say they have received letters notifying them of a data breach at Rivers Casino Philadelphia.Multiple people who shared the letters with Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 also said that they have never visited that casino.According to the letter, on Feb. 16, the casino identified files that were breached that may have contained the person’s date of birth, Social Security number and driver’s license number.(See the letter in the image below)Rivers Casino Philadelphia provided the following statement to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4:”Rivers Casino Philadelphia recently responded to and investigated an incident involving unauthorized access to certain Rivers Casino Philadelphia computer systems. Upon identifying the incident, Rivers Casino Philadelphia immediately secured the involved systems and launched an investigation. Through the investigation, Rivers Casino Philadelphia determined that an unauthorized actor accessed and/or took certain files stored on our computer servers. Rivers Casino Philadelphia is mailing letters to individuals whose information may have been involved in the incident.”Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 asked Rivers Casino why customers in Pittsburgh who have not been to the Philadelphia location had their information potentially compromised.”While the incident occurred on Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s systems, the files involved in the incident included certain files held by Rivers Casino Philadelphia, which included patron information from the Rivers Casino Philadelphia and Pittsburgh locations,” Rivers Casino said in a statement.Rivers did not comment on how many customers were impacted.

Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 asked Rivers Casino why customers in Pittsburgh who have not been to the Philadelphia location had their information potentially compromised.
