BURLINGTON, Iowa — Thursday morning Riverside Casino & Golf Resort is petitioning the Iowa Gaming Commission to stop Linn County from building a new casino in Cedar Rapids.
Riverside and the Washington County Riverboat Association claim the voting process for the gaming referendum in Linn County was worded wrong in 2021.
Riverside is also concerned about loss of revenue, as it is the closest gaming center to the proposed Cedar Rapids casino.
Thursday the commission will decide a 30-day action item and will decide if the Linn County casino application will be upheld.
