Philly is a city full of culinary treats, but at Sapore, you can pair it all with the city’s widest selection of limoncello and a water-side view.

Nestled inside River’s Casino (in the former Martorano’s Prime space), this fresh Italian kitchen-style restaurant boasts traditional flavors with modern twists, plus, an assortment of hand-crafted sips.

The venue itself brings a dimly lit and stylish atmosphere juxtaposed with the bright casino floor. There’s also a sizeable elegant bar when you first walk in, and a great view of the Delaware River if you make your way to the back of the locale.

But, the food and drink options here are what make this venue a prime option in the City of Brotherly Love.

Currently, visitors can order up dishes like rigatoni alla vodka, pepperoni and mozzarella bites, arancini, an Italian Chop Chop salad, burrata cheese ravioli, linguini shrimp scampi, chicken Milanese, cuts of different steaks/chops and more. However, the stand-out on the menu here has to be the Chicken Parm “Pizza.” The indulgent dish is made with their chicken parm crust secret recipe, then topped with cheese and sauce, served with an arugula salad.

Sapore also offers a sweet selection of desserts spanning tiramisu, ricotta cheesecake, a cannoli trio, gelato (your choice of cherry, hazelnut, cappuccino, pistachio or vanilla) and their popular cream puff tower, finished tableside with chocolate sauce, crème anglaise and a dusting of powdered sugar.

The drink menu follows suit by taking libation classics and then upping the ante with some updated flair. For example, Sapore’s Margarita gets an Italian twist with the addition of Aperol, and there will also be a rotating array of seasonal sips being added every few months to keep an eye out for.

“Sapore is all about creating a familiar, cheerful atmosphere where people can enjoy delicious Italian food, wine and cocktails in great company,” said Susan Foster, general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia. “We want our guests to feel at home while indulging in a meal that’s both classic and comforting.”

Part of the appeal of the new restaurant certainly comes from its Limoncello program. The venue pours every single limoncello brand available from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board—including Villa Massa, Pallini, Pezone and Caravella.

Sapore in total boasts seating for  200 guests, with an additional 40-seat private dining room. There’s also the chef’s table experience (set for 10 people) located just outside the kitchen. While there, diners get a full view of the chefs in action and a customized tasting menu.

Rivers visitors can also stop by the restaurant’s sister spot,  Sapore Slice, located just outside of the main venue’s entrance. With this quick-service option,  guests can enjoy a variety of pizza slices on the go or whole pies, including plain, garden, cheesesteak and barbecue chicken.

If you’re planning on heading to Rivers Casino this weekend to try out Sapore, there’s some fun extra incentives in store. On Friday, April 11, the Shark Tank Casting Team will take over The Event Center at 9 a.m. Hopeful business owners can apply online at ABC.com or sign up on-site  to pitch the Sharks. Then, on Saturday, April 12, Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes (UFC 314) will be streamed live from Miami in the BetRivers Sportsbook. The space features 33 kiosks that are open 24/7, and tickets can be cashed at any time.
