Internet gambling brought in more money in February in New Jersey than what was won from in-person gamblers at the city’s casinos, in what may be becoming a trend.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement on Friday released figures showing total gambling revenue for the casinos, horse tracks that take sports bets and their online partners was $484.8 million in February, up 5.1% from a year earlier.

But because internet and sports betting money must be shared with partners like tech platforms, sportsbooks and the like, and is not solely for the casinos to keep, the casinos consider money won from in-person gamblers to be their primary business.
