Foreigner-only casino operator Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) booked a second straight month of sequential increases in December, with casino revenue rising by 10.7% year-on-year and 4.6% month-on-month to KRW38.7 billion (US$26.4 million).
GKL’s casino revenue comprised a 5.6% sequential increase in table revenue to KRW35.6 billion (US$24.2 million), more than enough to overcome a 5.7% decrease in slots revenue to KRW3.06 billion (US$2.08 million). This came despite a 5.0% month-on-month decline in drop amount to KRW275.6 billion (US$188 million).
Casino revenue for FY24 came in at KRW393.6 billion (US$268 million), down 0.9% on the same period last year.
Table drop of KRW3.65 trillion (US$2.49 billion) was up 7.5% year-on-year.
GKL operates three casinos in South Korea and Seoul and Busan under the Seven Luck brand.
