BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) — The Doubletree by Hilton in downtown Binghamton was converted into a Vegas-themed gambling paradise for the second annual “Casino for a Cause” event held by United Way.
Dozens of people came out on May 22 to enjoy casino games like poker, blackjack and roulette.
For those who weren’t looking to gamble, there were raffles, a silent auction and live music.
Director of Community Relations Sadie Purdy at United Way said her favorite part is bringing a little bit of Las Vegas to the community.
“I just love to see the community come together and have a good time and just the laughter and the ambiance of that it really looks like Las Vegas in there. So it’s just a great night,” said Purdy.
All funds raised from the event will go towards the United Way’s Annual Community Campaign, and it is 100% guaranteed that every dollar raised will be used to help those in the Southern Tier area.
