AUBURN, WA – Muckleshoot Casino Resort has appointed Valdemar Maldonado Jr. as Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a significant milestone in the career of a long-standing and deeply respected leader within the organization.
A proud Muckleshoot tribal member, Maldonado’s appointment represents more than a personal achievement – it is a powerful reflection of the tribe’s commitment to cultivating leadership from within its own community. Maldonado embodies the values, heritage, and vision of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, and his leadership serves as an inspiration for future generations.
With over 25 years of dedicated service, Maldonado’s journey at Muckleshoot Casino Resort is a testament to the power of hard work, perseverance, and commitment. From his beginnings as a housekeeper, heavy duty team member and engineering staff member, to serving as a sound and light technician and entertainment production manager, Maldonado’s extensive experience has uniquely prepared him to lead one of the region’s most prominent gaming and hospitality destinations.
Over the years, Maldonado rose through the ranks, holding key leadership positions including Business Leader and Executive Director of Gaming. For the past two years, he has served as Interim COO, guiding operations with a deep understanding of the resort’s mission, vision, and values.
